In Islam there are 5 pillars which guide the Muslims in their beliefs: The declaration of faith, Prayer, Zakat (obligatory charity), Pilgrimage, and Fasting. Obligatory upon every Muslim is the performance of five daily prayers. Prayer, creates a connection between us and God and it reminds us of our purpose in life: to worship Allah (God) to the best of our abilities.
